Egan Printing Company
History

Egan Printing is Denver's oldest family-owned continuously operating printing company. Although it has a long history, Egan remains one of the region's most technologically advanced. Founded by Thomas C. Egan in 1891 on Larimer Street, the company was a letterpress shop specializing in stationery, forms and newspaper publishing. After 50 years in lower downtown Denver, the company moved to Stout Street in 1941.
In the 1950's Egan became one of Denver's first shops to convert from letterpress to lithography. Egan Printing was also was a leader in converting to phototypesetting. Shortly after moving to its current location in 1981, Egan joined the computer revolution in desktop publishing.
Again leading the way in Denver printing, Egan's workflow is now almost entirely digital. An Agfa direct-to-film imagesetter is just one element in this very modern printing company. Egan also has the latest Heidelberg five-color presses for short to medium runs. An Adobe Systems Certified Provider, Egan has expertise in Quark, Freehand and all the printing industry's major software programs.
